Keeping children safe

Safeguarding statement

Every child we see has the right to be safe. Safeguarding is part of everyday practice at the clinic, not a separate exercise.

Last updated: September 2026

Our commitment

We work to the statutory guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children and to the intercollegiate safeguarding competency framework for healthcare staff. The welfare of the child is always our first consideration.

Our people

  • All clinical and administrative staff hold an enhanced DBS check appropriate to their role.
  • Staff are trained in safeguarding children to the level required for their role and update that training regularly.
  • The clinic has a named safeguarding lead who supports the team and oversees any concern raised.

If we are worried about a child

Where we believe a child may be at risk of harm we will act. Wherever possible we discuss this with parents or carers first, but we will share information with children's social care, the GP or the police without consent if a child's safety requires it. We will only share what is necessary, with the people who need it.

If you are worried about a child

Tell us on 01926 624 235 or at admin@healthcare4kids.co.uk and we will take it seriously. If a child is in immediate danger call 999. You can also contact the local authority children's services where the child lives, or the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000.

Chaperones and appointments

A parent or carer is present for appointments with younger children, and a chaperone is available on request for any examination. Please ask the team at any point if you would prefer one.

Talk to us about your child

Tell us a little about your concerns and we'll advise on the right type of appointment - there's no obligation to book.
