Clinical team

Dr Jo Jones

Consultant Paediatrician

Dr Jo founded Healthcare4Kids and leads every assessment pathway here. She is a consultant paediatrician and a mother of three, and says the worries parents bring to her clinic are the same ones she has worked through at home.

Her priority is that families leave understanding what is happening. Parents are encouraged to raise everything that concerns them, however small it sounds, and every assessment is followed by a full written report you can return to later.

Clinics are held at our Leamington Spa practice in Warwickshire.

Dr Khalid Malik

Consultant Psychiatrist

MBBS · Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry

Dr Malik is a child and adolescent psychiatrist with many years of experience in emotional wellbeing, mental health and neurodivergence.

He works closely with the rest of the clinical team so that each young person's plan is practical and genuinely usable at home and at school, and he places the young person's own voice at the centre of the consultation.

Rhian Hier

Specialist Neurodevelopmental Nurse

Rhian qualified as a paediatric nurse at Nottingham University in 1999 and has worked at Birmingham Children's Hospital, Great Ormond Street and Sydney Children's Hospital, before moving into community children's nursing.

She joined Healthcare4Kids in 2024 and runs follow-up appointments - reviewing how things are going, discussing medication and adjusting it where needed, always in discussion with Dr Jo.

As a parent herself, she understands the emotional and sensory side of what families are managing day to day.

Liam Mall

Specialist Neurodevelopmental Nurse

Liam trained at the University of Birmingham, qualifying as a paediatric nurse in 2017, and has worked across general paediatric wards, paediatric assessment units and emergency care.

He has a particular interest in neurodiversity and in helping children and young people thrive by understanding their individual strengths as well as their needs.

Like Rhian, he reviews patients alongside Dr Jo so care plans are agreed together.

Dr Chris Morrell

Chartered Clinical Psychologist

D.Clin.Psych MSc BSc (Hons) AFBPsS

Dr Morrell holds a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Universities of Coventry and Warwick, is registered with the HCPC and is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.

He spent over 15 years in the NHS, nine of them in a child and adolescent mental health service, and now works independently with autistic children and adults, with a particular interest in autism and PDA.

He is careful to make assessment feel unthreatening for young people who find new people and new places difficult.

Practice and admin team

The people who answer the phone, liaise with schools and GPs, book your appointments and send out your reports.

Joanna Barnes

Practice Manager

MPMA

Joanna joined the practice in 2017 after a career spanning IT, private business and the NHS, and a Masters at Warwick University. She is a member of the Practice Managers Association and keeps the clinic running behind the scenes.

Melanie McCarthy

Autism Clinic Coordinator

Melanie has coordinated our autism clinic since 2020, for children in school, home educated or currently out of education. She gathers the school, tutor and activity-group feedback that makes an assessment robust - so she is the person to ask about how autism assessments work here.

Cheryl Jackson

Patient Administrator

Cheryl has been with us since 2019. She makes sure medical reports go out promptly, books your follow-up appointments and keeps GPs up to date with current medication.

Sarah Coleman

Patient Administrator

Sarah works closely with schools to request feedback for assessments and shares responsibility for managing the clinic diaries. She came to us from a varied career in law, medico-legal work and running her own business.

Calum Johnson

Office Administrator

Calum joined in 2022 and is usually the first person families speak to - initial enquiries, repeat prescriptions and general questions all come through him.

Alison Marland

Finance Administrator

Alison has more than 15 years of business support experience across Warwickshire and the West Midlands, alongside bringing up two children and five years as a childminder.
